Vital Points related to the childbirth in her classes, which are very
interactive. It is recommended that parents to be attend the
classes which not only builds up the confidence in giving birth but also
eases the fears.
Class I
Cesareans
Cesareans should not be taken
lightly because it means having a major abdominal surgery like that of
appendix. After a cesarean surgery there is postoperative pain. At a time
when a mother would like to mother her baby, the mother needs mothering
herself. It is therefore best to avoid cesareans. However, at times they
are lifesaving. We discuss those times in Class.
Class II
Prenatal Exercises
These are exercises to be done
in Pregnancy in order to relieve discomfort of pregnancy, like backaches,
for instance. Exercises prepare a woman's
body for delivery, maintain muscle tone for the breasts, pelvic floor and
abdomen. They make a mother feel good and active and take away minor
discomforts. They make her regain the shape of her figure after delivery.
Class III
Ways Labour might begin
It is important for a woman to
be aware of the signs that require her to seek immediate medical
attention. When these emergency signs are absent it is best for a woman to
stay home as long as she feels comfortable. Ways labour might begin are
discussed in details during the class.
Class IV
Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding results in good
health for children. It promotes a child's mental health and physical
growth and development. It also provides psychological security to the
child. A baby fed on mother's milk gets into a relaxed state of learning and
does not need to be fretful to gain attention and get the reassurance that
it will be cared for.
Class V
Baby care
Once you have the baby, you
would need to know about the diapers and how to start your baby onto other
foods. How to be a 'Good Enough' parent is discussed. All parents
strive to do their best, and we hope to support parents in this endeavor.
Class VI
Post Natal Exercises
When a woman has just delivered
a baby she still feels rather bloated. Her body is still under the
influence of relaxing hormones. Some mild exercises done at this time to
reposition her muscles that have spread apart at birth goes a long way in
helping her to regain her figure.
